The Hatched Works of R.W. Berky
STRUTTING HIS STUFF
Performance is the threshing floor of the creative process. In the style of clowning which Berky professed and developed over the years, the relationship with audience was of great importance, and the interactivity between performer and audience member created a rich experience for audience and performer alike. Berky's character’s success was often based upon the success of an audience participant.
Rather than making fun of someone in the audience, Berky always strives to make fun with them. This produces an experience for the entire audience which is, in his opinion, richer and more deeply meaningful.
This EXCERPT from Mr. Wiggly’s Final World Tour is an example of Berky's philosophy of performance.
